200 Amp Alternator

I have a 00 mustang GT with the stock 130amp alternator. I need to upgrade to a 200 amp alternator. I need one that is the exact same casing size as the stock one. I have a supercharger and I have no space for a bigger alternator. I need that stock size. My car was hooked up to the voltage meter and when it was banging at high volume, the car was not even charging, the system was running off the battery. The meter was in the red. I have done all the big 3. I have 0 gauge wiring, 2 1.0 farad caps. I think my alternator went bad for my car sitting in the garage for 2 years. So where can I get good cheap alternators? Also whats with the power cord or whatever that attaches from the alternator to the battery. I dont see that on my stock alt. Where do i buy the cord for that and everything to hook it up so it charges?

the power should be on the back of the alt. there should be a stud on the alt. what amps are you running? also caps don't help ya in this situation.
Im running 13w7 on JL 1000/1 and the JL 450/4 amp on the boston acoustics z6's.

shouldn't be from sitting. are you sure the battery isn't dead? i never heard of on alt going from sitting.
I got a optima yellow top, the battery is fine. I am going to go to autozone or pepboys and get a alt test.

Drive to a local auto zone and ask them if they will test your battery and alt. If they say its fine then you need to upgrade if your amps are pulling that much current.
Oh ok so then I will know its fine when im not banging it loud, but then when im banging it loud the voltage drops. How come I see so many systems that dont have 200 amp alt's and theres are fine. I also have 2 1.0 farad caps.

caps help keep your amps keep juiced through the short term booms.. it doesn't increase the power available for the system.. i'd suggest getting that thing tested, and if it's busted, replace it with stock, and if it's good, replace it with something from mean-green, or excessiveamperage.com like iceteebone said.

got pics of your car? sounds like a pretty sweet ride.

I really think the alternator is good, since when the system wasnt bumping, the voltage meter was on the green, but I will double check tommorow at autozone. If its the system, then would I need a 200amp one? I need the same casing size alt to fit.

a h.o. alternator wont be any bigger then the stock one. They are all the same size.
How are HO same size as stock one? What do they do to make it more power but keep same size? I dont know alternators that much. Where can I get that little power cord to connect from alt to battery? I want 0 gauge since my power is 0 gauge right now from battery.

I dont know exactly how they do it. They do something with the coils in it (if that is what they are) just watch out for the amps that the alt puts out at idle some H.O. alts put out lower then stock at idle which isnt very good. and for 1/0 gauge wire go to http://knukonceptz.com or http://weldingsupply.com. If I ever need a new alternator my moms friend owns a Alternator and Starter show with his brother and said that they can make me a H.O. alt if I want one for free.
