$20 tail light tint kits off ebay

I did a search and most people seem to recommend the tint-x tail light spray or whatever, but I dont want to use a spray because i'm not nearly steady enough to put on thin layers and I dont want to remove my tail lights.

Has anyone actually used the film kits? They come precut so it seems pretty Army proof, so you cant mess it up. Do they work well, or would it be better to get a tint shop to do it?

Heres an example of what im talking about.

ive seen it in person on an 04 GTO and it does not look half bad. he had some good quality shit though. i think it will look good depending on the the quality of the tint and if they cut it right. sometimes the ones off ebay may be alittle off.

Hmm, well thats good. The only thing though is I dont have access to a hair dryer or anything of that sort... So I would basically just use the soapy water on film, try to space it right then squeegy the excess off. I've never done tinting before, and all the manuals I've read say you have to heat and stretch the film...

the spray tint you speak of is called VHT NiteShades

that works well also,

not for headlights though, becuase itll turn your headlights greenish red...... do not do clear lights (only tails and 3rd brake/sidemarkers) lol

the ebay kits are garbage from what I have seen. See if any of your local shops can apply smoked laminex or rockblocker to them. I had mine done for about 80 bucks and it looks clean as hell. There are a few shades of darkness to choose from.

I prefer not to remove my taillights.

No thanks, I wanted to stay away from that.
WELL NO TINT FOR YOU....

tint nazi.. haha.

I have seen a new GMC Sierra with what appears to be a tint film over the lights, almost like window tint.. maybe you could use that?

search Lamin-x.com

they make nice *** covers that are thick so they will also protect the light.

they;re made to stick right on, for your car. lots of people on the MINI cooper forums use Lamin-X covers.
