rms on the atlases are 300w but they will handle way more than that

I have a Profile AP1200 and I have 38" x 14" x 22" for a box.

//edit 300watts at 2ohm per? if so thats exactly what my amp puts out. SPL wise which would be better running 300watts @2ohm per speaker.

hmm..i never heard an atlas 12....but i heard 2 12w3's with 1000watts and it wang hard and deep........

atlas; are considered single 4 ohm.

they have two voicecoils, one is a 4 ohm to get power, and the other is a 2 ohm to control the qts

Don't have both to do a direct comparison. I would expect XBL^2 to win for SQ from what I have read. and possibly win for SPL so you would have a good SQL setup. Neither sub is an spl champ. From what I remember on another forum people were recomending the Atlases over W3's.

I owuld not hesitate to get an Atlas except that it won't fit, the W3's have less mounting dpeth and top vented VC's so you can mount the magents very close to the rear wall in the enclosure.

2 x 300watts 2ohm

2 x 200 watts 4ohm

1 x 600 watts 4 ohm

doesnt do 2 ohm mono

Ill probably be getting 2 10W3's possibly in a stealth box, no cash right now.

You can run them with your amp fine. if you can wire your speakers for 4 ohm load you can run them in parallel to the amp (just connect both speakers to the bridged channel on your amp) (4+4)/2 = 4

I also have a 600x1 150x2 @ 4 ohm amp.

If it was me I would buy deaf and get the Atlases! Probably bntter and cheaper if installed correctly.

I think you can get 2 ohm W3's so if you want sterio from your subs that would be another option. Not sure if that really matters though lol.

yeah Im talking with someone that has 2 12" 12w3-D4 which is dual 4ohms which I would wire to 2 ohms. I think the atlases are a mood point anyways it appears everyone is selling their atlases for more than the $100 AA was selling them for. you can use the 2ohm coil for wiring versatility though...

i have 2 atlas 15"s in my wall running off a vr1000@2ohms at the moment (maybe ~600 before rise) and given ive only had them in one box, they are not very loud imo..they do sound very nice though...

if you can get the jl for as cheap as the atlas, if money is a big factor, id personally get the jl..

...also, i have my doubts that the atlas can take more than im giving it for very long...my cabin fills w/ the smell of glue if i crank them the way it is after a maybe a minute

Yeah I can get the JLs for less than the atlases. about $200 shipped on the pair
