2 sony xplod 12's VS. a jl 13w7?

only reason why i want jl is because i heard my friends and i liked 'em. I havent heard these other subs so i wouldnt know what to expect, i could buy a XXX and i dont know much about them so i dont know if i wouldl ike it or not. I wouldl ike to hear it first before i bought something word of mouth

Very true. Try to find someone in your area that has some of the less known brands, give them a listen. You might find something you like better, and chances are good it will be less $$ out of your pocket, too. You can call RE and see if they have a dealer near you, or just post on the forum, to see whos near you and what they are running.

2 12 w6v2 will own the 13.5 W7 in sq, and if powered ~100 watts over RMS (which they could easily take), they will also own the single W7 taking its rms in spl.

I'm not sure how you got to that conclusion. The w6v2 & the w7s have a pretty simmilar sound, I can't imagine one "owning" the other one, if they are both properly installed

I'm not sure how you got to that conclusion. The w6v2 & the w7s have a pretty simmilar sound, I can't imagine one "owning" the other one, if they are both properly installed

i got to that conclusion because i've installed and worked with both the W7 and the W6. (i work for an authorized JL Dealer)

thanks for ur guys input, i was just asking if it is worth getting...and its not really necessary to insult me........for 1 i am the opposite of rich, i have just been saving up my money for this.....and this makes me rich how? plus, ive only dealt with simple systems like my old kenwood 10's and the xplods. i dont understand why u tend to insult me just because ive neve dealt with jl audio before. i'll learn these things overtime

and your saying this because you have heard all three of these subs in person, right lemans?

the w6v2 has amazing sq, and from what i have heard, the SX is lacking in sq.

Yeah i'm gonna go ahead and disagree with you. I have not heard the SX, but I have heard the HC. I have also heard they get loud, but like said they aren't SQ subs in anyway. The w6v2 is considered by many to be the ultimate SQ sub, I love them and desperately wish I had the money to spend on one of those suckers. How you can say the SX is a better driver than the W7 is absolutely rediculous. In what aspect is it better? SQ? No, SPL? Maybe by a hair, but in his case the car is going to play a much bigger role in SPL than the sub will. All the hype about W7s does not make them bad drivers, they are the exact opposite.

I'm curious where you pulled this information from in the forums...
