Ok, so I stand at a crossroad here. I currently have 2 sony xplod 12's in the trunk of my 2005 hyundai tiburon (center ported box). To my surprise, and everyone else's, they actually sound pretty good. Whoever did the box on the,m did a great job.
I also have a diamond audio 15 inch sub I got for free from my buddy a few years ago. Its in a POS sealed box that sounds like crap. At one point i had it in my trunk and it hit so low, I loved how much power it had behind the low notes, but I missed having quality, throaty high bass notes as well. The 12's in the existing enclosure had more range quality than the 15, so they went back in.
I'm looking for the best sounding setup right now, and I know the diamond is a better quality sub, but I'm not sure if it will be able to hit the highs like I want to, depending on the enclosure I build. Can anyone offer any help or advice as to what direction I should go? Money is tight (when isn't it?) but I'm willing to listen to some experienced audio "experts" on what route to take. Thanks for any help!
