1st, the battery in my car finaly died. So I need a new one. Are the Red top optimas worth the extra dough.

2nd. I want to back up some of my dvds on to a standard tape. Some of my friends have not stepped into the DvD age yet. When I go to record them though it gets a messed up and looks like your trying to watch some channel that you havent payed for. Is their a filter or something to correct this?

1. Yes they are...but you can find good deals.

2. They have copyright encoding...to get past it you need some good equipment. I work in a Master Control (TV Studio controls) unit here at school and we have time-base correctors...I turn it down about 1/2 a turn and turn the video detail up a half and I can record DVD's perfectly. They sell consumer level correctors but...they dont work.
