2 runs of 1/0?

Can't figure out if I should do a 2nd run of 1/0. My voltage is actually pretty good. Doesn't drop below 12.9

I got a 240a alt, d3400 up front, big 3 and 2 kinetik hc2400s. Running a sq 4500 at .5

So would it be worth it to do a 2nd run?? Idk if ppl actually gain or not From this, I'm sure they do obviously with a lot more power. My 300a fuse hasn't popped yet if that helps. Lol

I'm new to this forum but been in car audio for 5 years!

 
The owner of Shok industries kept adding runs of 1/0 to the back until he stopped getting gains on the meter. I think he ended up with like 30 runs, lol.

Two runs for you would be good. I don't think 12.9v is good. I'm going to do more runs when I get my new alternator in.

 
how many amps are you pulling from the front? Single run of 1/0 will carry 300amps or so, depending upon length. Personally I'd spend $$$ on another batt or bigger alt if voltage drop is a concern.

x2. I almost s**t a brick when my voltage dropped to 13.1v. I lost sleep over the s**t, but I figured it out when the field connector fell the f**k apart.

I get worried with anything under 13.3, and I start turning s**t off at 13.1 and under. Too much of a risk, especially considering how much good amps cost these days. I'd rather drop $40 on another run, even if it only reduces the drop by 0.1-0.2v, hell that could be the difference between an amp and a paperweight.

Since when is dropping to battery resting voltage a terrible thing, hit 11.5 or 12v and you have problems. Most amps have no problem playing that low

 
Yeah, lol just front to back haha. Rear batteries to amp I got duals no doubt
dual runs to the amp from the rear batteries is good, it's what you need. the problem is the single run from the alternator to the rear is essentially a bottleneck at that point. get the second, if not third run installed. overkill in wiring is never a bad thing.
