What would you recommend out of these two subs????? I am planning on getting 2 of them. Now am I just down between these two. Any recommendations??? I just see the peak power being the difference...

Rockford Fosgate Punch 12" Dual-Voice-Coil 4-Ohm Subwoofer

Continuous Power Handling 500W

Peak Power handling 1000W

Impedance 4 ohms

Magnet Size 102 oz.

Alpine 12" Dual-Voice-Coil 4-Ohm Subwoofer

Continuous Power Handling 500W

Peak Power handling 1500W

Impedance 4 ohms

Magnet Size 109 oz.

i say go with the rockfords

but i might be a little biased as you can see from my signature //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i'd have a rockford amp to but i don't have the money yet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

i got a hookup at bb thats why im deciding between these 2. any real differnce??? i heard rf break or tear easy. not sure what the peak power would really do

p3's 'might' sound a bit better, but the type-r's will handle more and get alot louder.

they still off them employee disc @ like $85 ? i remember the type-e's weer like $35 a pop when i worked for geeksquad as an autotech.

I say don't go with either, get a sub that you cant buy at BB, you will be more than happy..
how do you even know? he hasn't said his goal or anything with this system, maybe he just wants some subs period, and since he gets a discount at bb why not

but i'd rather go with the vendor accomodations rather than employee discount.. accomodations are retardedly cheap prices, when i worked for CCity the Solo X 18's were $465 BNIB //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif kicker's entire lineup was up for grabs minus the warhorse, but bb's alpine / kenwood accomodations are pretty nice, only for car-fi sales reps and geek squad auto tech installers though.

I think im settled on the 2 type R's from whatever I received from this forum. Any recommendations on an amp to power them???? 2 channel or mono??? preferrably from bb or up to the $250-$300 range. whatever gets the most out of them. i just want to hit hard.

I would recommend the Alpine amp for obvious reasons but keep in mind that amp is only 2 ohm stable. If you get the Type R's in DVC 4 ohm it would be like pissing in the wind. I would say the Alpine amp and 2 DVC 2 ohm Type R's FTW.
