2 RE 8s

I just bought a new '04 Dakota SXT Regular Cab, adn am looking at putting a custome box between the bucket seats. I want two put RE 8s in it at the recommended sealed box sixze. . How do the RE 8s perform? Will this sound ok. I'm not going crazy with this system like my last.. Just looking for decent sound, and decent spl.

i believe donns sister competes with two of them at only 70 watts a piece.......these things pound for the size they are from what i hear.

How much power would you say that these subs could handle in RE recommended size sealed boxes. I'm thinking about trying 500 Watts RMS all together, but don't want to overpower them. They should handle that correct?

dont put that to them. put either rms or a little bit lower, RE subs dont need full power to reach full potential...and it depends on how many subs your getting, if your getting 4 500 would be good.

Any more than say 200 watts each would be over kill unless you already have the amp. Just turn the gain way down.

Well violator5spd, the amp I have is rated 350RMS x 1 by the company, but then again I have read one different reviews online stating that this is probably under-rated. I figured since I have the amp already, I might as well try it. I wanted to try the RE8, but wanted to try 4, 3 would seem like an odd number

I guess 350rms would do fine. And if it doesn't you can always get something a little bigger.
