2 power cables wired to 1 battery?

i have 1 power cable already hooked up to my battery. i was just wondering if i could hook up another one to it, because i now have 2 amps. i was also wondering how to connect the ring terminal to the power cable...can i just strip the end of the power cable and clamp the ring terminal on with some pliers? thanks

What size cabling is the run that is already there?

Additionally, what size amps are we talking about here? (regarding RMS wattage output)

If the original run of cabling is large enough then you could save yourself some trouble and go with a distribution block splitting off to the two amps rather than running another power line altogether.

This will be entirely dependant on the size of the existing cable and the current needs of the amps, however.

That's what I did in my truck and it worked fine. I already had 8 gauge there from a previous install, so I just put that on my mids amp and ran some 4 gauge for my sub amp.
