you sturrin at me brah?
i'm thinking about starting to compete once in a while with my daily driver, but found i'll get slaughtered unless the box is below the window. i dont want it to be for all out SPL, i want something that can get loud on the mic if called to, but will mostly just make it as uncomfortable as possible in my truck //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

probably tune the box around 32 hz but would like to do some sort of removable port. i listen to classic rock, jam bands, rap, hard rock (korn, metallica, deftones, tool) and sometimes just flat out weird stuff like les claypool.

do i have the room for 2 18's ported behind the back seats and below the windowline? i think i can get the space, 12-14 cubic feet to be had below the window IMO but those are with rough measurements and quick math.

and what are the rules on battery and amp placement in the street classes? could i fold down half my backseat and have a battery/amprack there?

what would i do with the port though? sub and port facing up is the only way i could see it working, but i have seen a couple spl boxes in explorers with the ports coming right up to the hatch.

mine's a 98, you used to have an older one right? how would you compare the cargo room? looks pretty similar in the pic.

how do you secure your boxes to the floor? and where are the batteries?

Fyi, if you're thinking DBdrag.. 2 18"s for the lowest class would either put you in Street Max 1-2 (a wall class regardless), or Super Street 1-2 No wall (if you manage to keep it below the window line), SS1-2 NW is a very high numbers class, 16v, unlimited batts etc. no holds barred kinda behind the front seats. Loud class!

You get that thing metered yet Bama?

what can i do with 15's and a strong 14.4 daily electrical //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

yea 98 dosent have as much room as the newer ones, i used to have a 99 blazer, and this explorer has so much more room everywhere, there was zero room to mount my amps and batts beside on the box, with the X, i have 2 batts UNDER the back seat, my G31 yellow and a blue top, and all my wiring is hidden under the box in the big compartment thing

Explorer FTW //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

no meter yet, wouldnt do too much only getting 1800ish rms maybe less, 900 per MT dosent put numbers up but to the ear its pretty dang loud, only thing to go by is my Epic160 in the dash, but i think this setup will be alot louder in this vehicle than the blazer

with only 1 A3000 @1.4ohms is does pretty good compared to 2 A3000s each at .7 in the last setup, and only stock alt on this one

we got 4 15" MTs in a 98 explorer, but it was definatley pushin it lol
please tell me u got pics //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
