2 or 4ohm

I am looking to buy 3 12" Kicker CVX.

I see they have a 2 ohm and a 4 ohm version.

I will worry about the amp after I decide which ones I would like to go with.

I am more for the spl, and I already have a ported box for the three.

I listen to mostly rap/hiphop

Can anyone help me out deciding on the 2 or 4 ohm? Which would be better for my setup.

Thanks

Get your amp first and depending on your amp, you will choose either 4 ohm or 2 ohm. Ask this question once you've figured out your amp and we'll help you. Otherwise, we wouldn't know how to help.

I was thinking of going with the HIFONICS BXi2010D
What do you think?

I mean would it be better to run at 2ohms and get an amp that can handle more @2 ?
your going about this all the wrong way, driver impedance does not affect performance. your driver coil config will depend on your amp.

i would suggest getting the dual 2 ohm units, and wiring the the subs in a series parallel fashion yielding a 1.33 ohm load. then i would find a 1ohm stable amp that delivers 2500 watts at 1ohm

That's exactly what I am trying for figure out. Since I do not have an amp yet I'm trying to see if there will be a better combination or configuration by going with one or the other and picking an amp to match..

Thanks
