I would go with the 4-BL's since you would have double the surface area. I'm not really sure how much louder it would get compared to two BTL's.

Technically, 4 of sub X as opposed to 2 of sub X would give you 6 more decibels of volume. Assuming that they all have the same power.

Do 1 18 in the explorer. That will be the loudest. well vs 2 or 4.
