2 ohms or 4 ohms

I currently have a pair of 8" SD-2 D4's powered by a Precision Power p1000.1. I will be upgrading to a pair SA-8 V3's. What amp should I get to power them & should I go 2 ohms or 4 ohms?

I'd get the d4s and run a final 1 ohm load, as for your amp... What's your budget?

That's if you have the electrical to run at 1 ohm.

Budget is between $250 & $300 if possible.

I'd get the SA D4s and wire to 1 ohm.

As for an amp I have this one in my ex's car pushing a single x10

Yes. 1 ohm final impedance is usually the best compromise between power output and safety.
