Which one would sound better and hit harder running off a JL 500/1

i would have to say that the w3v2's because it will have less distortion than the L5, and they run better off of the 500/1 than the L5 does as i have found.

You did say that you wanted sound quality....well you would be screwed either way in an spl competition with that little of power..but the 15 L5 would be your better bet

for SQ, go with the dub 3's.

how do you like your ecl 12s? are they ported or sealed and have you got them metered yet?

they are awesome and they are in a sealed enclosure. no, they havent been metered. i dont really care about how they read out are on a db meter, just as long as they sound good and are loud enough for me.
