which ones would bump harder? i know that there both going to sound clean, but i also want it to bump when i play rap when im with some friends. there both going to be in a built to specs custom box. the idq would be running off about 750 watts and the idmax will probably get 900 watts.

From the reseach I did on the IDMax prior to buying one, I gathered that their sweet spot (full Xmax) was between 600-900 RMS. Anything over that on the daily could mean trouble. On the other hand if you are looking for a SQL woofer to handle that kind of power check out FiQ. Heard many of these things being run up to 1500 RMS on the daily!! A thread on the ID website had a single IDMax 12" being run off of an MTX D class amp 600rms at 2ohms hitting 140db in an Accord. I have not heard that much about the SPL capabilities of the IDQ.

That is enclosure dependant.

IDQ's are not meant to be output monsters, they are SQ subs. But, will two of them be loouder than a single IDMax? Who knows. They get decently loud imo. Probably come down to installation.

The IDMax is their SQL sub (monster output with very good SQ)

The IDQ is their SQ sub (not output monsters as stated)

The ID's will somewhere in the middle and probably their best seller due to the cost, excursion and output. 2 ID12's will probably get veeeeery loud in a spec ported enclosure with 500rms. I doubt you will be dissapointed with any choice. The downside of the IDMax's are the price, but if you've got the money......?? Why not

IDMax 10 $399

IDMax 12 $449

FIQ 10 $249

FiQ 12 $259??

You're right you could almost get 2 Q's. His question was specific to ID's. The majority of people the buy max's probably have the extra money to spend on them. Fi's are very frequently followed by..."for the money"

I doubt they are much different in terms of quality. Manf. direct is hard to beat...
