Hi there,

I have a set of 2 Audiobahn AW1571T 15" dual-coil subwoofers which are rated at 1000watt max, 500watt RMS & I am wondering what kind of amp I would require to power the both of them? Any particular brand you would recommend?

I have my eye on a Kenwood KAC-PS401M powerslide 1200w 2 channel Mono amp on ebay just now for £130, would this be ok to power them?

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance

by running two AW1571T's, you can either have a 1,4, or 16 ohm load. i would wire them on a 1 ohm load and get a 1 ohm stable amp that produces around 1000-1500wrms.

X2. What is your budget?

Seeing as you are in Scotland, what are some brands available to you there?

Hi there,

I have managed to pick up a Vibe VP4 digital monoblock amp for £121 used, a friend of mines has ran a couple of different set-ups off of the same make of amp no problem including two 12" duel-coil audiobahns that had a high output rating so I guess it should be ok. The amp puts out 1x1200W RMS at 1ohm.

I have been advised by a few ppl to run it at 1 ohm, have looked at the manual & it doesnt appear hard to set-up (first time dealing with duel-coils) Now I just gotta get the wiring & enclosures sorted out.

Cheers for your advice
