2 Dual 2 Ohm FI SSD's @ .5 ohms or 2 ohms?

So I have a choice on running them @ .5 ohms or 2 ohms.

I have a mmats d2100.2 That'll do 1550 + Wrms @ 2 ohms, and a mmats d2000.05 That'll do 1500 + Wrms @ .5 ohms. I'm sure ill get more power @ .5 ohms. Very underated amps.

I wanted to know how well can the SSD's handle .5 ohms, both have Flatwind and Bp Power.

Subs dont care what there wired to, subs will handle any impedence load fine.....

Go for the d2100.2 at 2 ohms. Less stress on the amp. In reality that amp is only going to do 1500rms and those subs will eat that up all day and not even get warm. .5 is not the best bet for daily.

But ummm mmats makes there .5 ohm amps very stable and its built to run @ that ohm load. David Thompson from Mmats said that the amp would do just as fine for daily as the other amp. I was just worried about the subs.

The only thing you have to worry about for damaging subs is heat. Feed them too much power and they get hot 'n stinky.

Go with the 2 ohm amp.

I would go with the 2ohm amp also, even though it can run at half ohm the other amp running 2ohms will run more effice\ient and draw less current from your electrical

the other amp is gonna make power at .5 one map makes power at 2 ohms. thats it - not one is more efficient or some BS.

It looks like the 2 ohm amp is gonna make more power anyways. No difference at all that I can see between the two amps except the ohm load that they are rated to make power at.

If your 2 ohm amp was .5 ohm stable then it would make more power @ .5 ohm. Being as both amps make rated power at different loads, your power to the subs is almost identical. Run w/ the 2 ohm amp and be happy

if one amp does 1500 watts at a 0.5 ohm and one amp does 1500 watts at 2 ohms, they're both still only doing 1500 watts. Its like whats heavier, a ton of feathers of a ton of bricks. However, the amp that does 1500 watts at 2 ohms could do more at 0.5 ohms if its stable that low.
