2 dc lvl 4, or lvl 4 xl

so heres the scoop.. planning on running DC for my next build.. got turned onto 2 12" lvl 4s on 2400rms. good thing is they'll work great in the current box i have... so i wont have to get a new one. HOWEVER, i was also thinking a level 4 XL 15", but would need to get a new box built..

which could get louder, the 2 12" lvl 4s, or 1 15 XL? both on the same 2400rms.. oh and id be putting the 15 in 3.5 cubes tuned to 32hz

I'd go with the pair of Lvl 4's. More cone area and keeping your current enclosure are a plus...unless you just WANT to build a new one...

well the reason i asked is because someone told me the 15" xl may be louder and so i had to ask to get some input, if i bought the 2 subs, it would be 5$ more than buying the single xl and a new box, so either way im paying the same, so if im gonna pay the same i'd like to know what would be loudest.

In the right enclosure, there's no reason why a pair of Lvl 4's won't get louder than a single lvl 4xl. There simply isn't that big of a difference in power handling...

sounds right, was curious as to what others thought, and exactly the same power

and another question, ive got a 1200d right now, going to get another to strap @ 2 ohms on my subs for 2400rms, would i be better off strapping 2 1200ds, or getting just a single 2200d?

If you already have a 1200, I'd just buy another & strap'em. That'd be cheaper than picking up a new 2200. But it's your cash. If you like the 2200 better & have no problem buying one, then do so...

well i was planning on buying either amp used anyway not new, i could pick a 1200d up for 175-200 or a 2200d 275-300, which if i sold my 1200d locally i could prolly get 200 for it, which would only need to send out another 100 at most for a 2200d

cant fit 2 12 xls, and wouldnt have the electrical to power both them

space is a big problem for me.. cant really get anything more than 4 cubes in there.. grand am trunk = small as shit

I think you'll be happy with the pair of level 4 12"s, man. They're definitely an upgrade over the CVXs...
