so i got new speakers for my car (some alpine 50 watts rms) and now i would like an amp to power them.. can i get a 2 channel amp and be fine or do i really need the 4 channel? i understand i will not be able to use the fader or balance but i dont use that anyway and im trying to save money here. are their any other cons of getting the 2 channel?

You have 4 speakers?

It's not a problem using a 2 channel to power them -- you'll be able to use the balance, just not the fader.

If you have standard 4 ohm speakers you'd want an amp that's around 100x2 at 2 ohms stereo.

n2audio has given you the advice you need.

I'd personally spring for the 4 channel, but it's not my money, equipment or vechicle. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

10 ga would be adequate for the amp power/gnd - 8 ga is more common and about the same price.

16ga would be fine for speaker wire. You would be ok tapping into the stock wiring if you want to go that route.
