RCA come in various packages.
2 ch
4 ch
6 ch etc..
I will be running two amps. A smaller 4 channel and a mono amp for the subs.
I have many questions.
What RCA's do you guys use or recommend?
Type? Brand?
Specific things to look for in a good quality RCA?
Believe all the hype?
Do you run 3 sets of 2 channel runs?
or in my preposed install, do you prefer to just run a 6 channel single run set?
Should I just run the front and rear sets only and then jump over from the 4 ch amp to the mono amp? By doing this will I lose the subwoofer control from the head unit?
I do have 2 sets of older Rockford Fosgate RCA from like 10+ years ago that still look good. I did a continuity test and they were good. Did a resistance test and it came out to less than 1 ohm each time for all the sets. Are these still good? I know technology has advanced quite a bit since then with all the time correction and such but $100+ for a set of Monster 6 channel rca's seems a bit much. That's what the local Ultimate guy was trying to sell me.
I did try to run the old RF rca's to my 4 channel from the new Alpine 9886 but I was having a problem with the RCA connectors being too big/bulky to fit nicely within the rear of the head unit. The old RF rca's had the right angle connectors built in. I guess I will need to update these with a new set with just the standard straight connectors.
Are there any that have significantly slimmer connectors of good quality that you guys could recommend?
Thanks!
