What's up guys looking for some advice here. Just bought 2 Avalanche motors they aren't here yet but they will be. Issue that I have and most of us have is limited space. This would be going into my daily which currently has 2-SA10's in a 4th order. I have around 3-4cuft tops, so below are the options.

Build them as 10's

Build them as 12's

or just build a single 15.

Avalanche 12:

Fs 23 Hz

Vas 80 Liters

Qms 4.36

Qes .39

Qts .358

Znom 4 ohms

Re 2.8 ohms

Mms 197 g

Sd 480 cm^2 - (74.4 sq.in)

Pnom 800 watts

Mounting Depth:

Gasket on - 6 9/16" (6.5625")

Gasket off - 6 11/16" (6.6875")

Avalanche 15:

Qts - .3

Qms - 3.5

Qes - .33

Vas - 300.6 Liters

Fs - 15.7 Hz

Re - 3.2 ohm

Le - 2.4 mH

Xmax - 27mm

800 Watts Rms

Sd 116.09 square inches.

Let me know what you guys would do.

I think 2 10's would be better suited for that airspace. 2 12's would be tight.

A single 15 would obviously work if you can fit the driver width.

It depends on the user's goals, but yes bigger = more xmax = more cone control = more sound. These are equipped with XBL^2 tech and have a coil that is maybe 1 1/4" long.

how much power?

thats not how it works.

bigger size doesn't equate to more xmax. Turn them into 10s. You obviously want good sound. I'd rather have all the room for a good designed box than trying to stuff 12s to "fit".

thats right.

and op thats what i would do also. turn them into 10" that way you can give them the right size box.

done right them 10's will slam and sound good.

Okay so i need a few more opinions. Last night i got in contact with Dave over at PSI. Looks like i'll be build a pair of 12's. Anyone recall how if this sub like big or small box? trying to search online but no luck.

Must have been the 3" version that had the unobtainium coils that I'm thinking of. As you say 4HP coils should be easy to find and I think...
