Can anyone help me with a box plan for 2 of these sub ported? Not sure on the tuning, just know that I can go only 10.5" wide(the side the sub is on)Hopes this makes sence.Willing to pay is someone wants to charge me.Wanted to go with 3 sealed but think it would be simpler to do 2 ported.they will be going in the hatch of my Camaro. Thanks

Er, if you can only go 10.5 wide...and each sub is 8" wide, how do you expect to fit 2 in 10.5 inches?

How about in the other directions? No, sorry it doesn't make sense.

That design will be efficient but will probably sound boomy in the 40-50 hz region. The box is really too big. It lacks low end extension as well. If you plan to run more than 300W to the pair a subsonic filter is going to be a must as well.
i did some quick calculations and thought it was tuned a bit high.

i think it may have been due to the fact that trying to get: enough port area, tune low(er), and have a small box (ie, no port noise, good low end extension, and good power handling) would have came up with a very long port.

So will this box need some adjustments? Looks like this design will fit perfect.Does it need a longer port or something. What can I do to alter this design so it wont be as boomy as stated earlier?

Running the SPEC box in the GF's car and throwing 400+ watts to each with NO problems. Do have a SSF though.

I think it sounds VERY good and gets respectably loud. Other's have mentioned tuning to 35Hz, but I knew she wouldn't car, so I built the AA spec box and am more than happy with it.

Does it put out ground pounding bass, of course not as it's $100 worth of 8" subs. But I can hear her pull up in the driveway when I'm in the house and they will rattle the rearview mirror and I did have to deaden the crap out of the rear deck. But more importantly they sound VERY good and add just the right amount of "punch" to her $500 system.

Also not sure about it being "boomy" it just doesn't hit as low as a pair of 12's or 15's, but that's to be expected.

Chad's theory on the box was to tune a little higher to gain some output and count on cabin gain to help out the bottom end. Seems to work in the GF's car....
