Chances are Im pulling the alt tomorrow and getting it tested, hopefully I can find a place to do it for free, and with it off the car

O'Reilly Auto Parts

AutoZone

Advanced Auto Parts

Carquest

NAPA Auto Parts

ETC.... pretty much ANY automotive parts store will test it for free... Just unhook you pigtail and take it to them and they will test it out in a matter of a couple minutes...

and I still want to know that ****s name!

Im in western canada so I dont have a single store in that list but Napa, and mine is a small hole in the wall one and they have to order everything.

I'll find a place though, just might need to take a drive lol

Whats a better grounding point then straight to the frame?? My factory battery ground goes straight to the frame...
Hmm....

It's been explained so many times. Read, jesus ****ing christ.

Change a wire to the positive. Or better yet, get another section of wire and run a separate negative to negative on both batteries. AND use the ground you already have. Do both. The run from neg to neg is the most important, but it's beneficial to have the ground already in place in addition to it.

You know what a better ground is? A straight run of copper wire. Copper conducts electricity much better than does steel with welds throughout it to keep a good flow.

The frame is not made of copper. Nor is it made out of anything that conducts electricity well anyways.

you could try running a ground from your alt case to back battery if your car doesnt have a great frame for grounding. and your not talking about dropping low at idle are you? or when your driving?

It should be while he's driving...volts will drop at idle in daily drivers.
