2,4, or 8ohm

I am working on a friend of mines box for 2 12". What would yield the best SQ. His subs are 4 ohms. He said he would buy an amp that would match the best. Soooo, wire it mono to 2 Ohms, Stereo at 4 or Mono at 8 ohms? The subs are 120 RMS at 4 ohms. Just need opinions to offer him. I have always heard that 8 ohms would yield the best SQ but I want to hear more opinions.

Normally true.. but it is so small of a difference I would just do the 2 ohm mono because of price.
