i was wonder would buying 2 or 3 RLi-8s be a downgrade from 2 12" Earthquake tremors? i would run either choice of a PHD2, but whas wondering what would be better since i dont like how the 12's box take up so much of my trunk space and buying 2/3 RLi-8s wouldnt take up as much space. I also want to know if the RLi-8s was a better choice what is better in a ported or sealed box. i mostly listen to rap. i wanted to get 2 8w7s but the price for the rli's knocked them outa the watter and the good reviews i saw. since people say this is one of the best 8s out there.

on the enclosure i was thinking something like in this video..

http://realmofexcursion.com/videos/REAudio/re8.19.wmv

with like 4 eu700s or 2/3 rl-i8s or whatever 8's are out there that are in my price range, would this be good.

or i was thinking if i get 4 eu700s i can put 1 on each side of the box, but then i think it would cause cancelation..? can anyone clarify this?

i just really want some bass [spl] but not take up as much space, as 2 12"s would in a 28.5 x 14 x 14 box would. which is half my trunk.

What about 8s from Ascendant Audio if you order them know they are only 45.00 each. You could go with 4 and take up alot less room and still be happy because you will show up some people with 10s and and maybe a couple of 12s. They have great SQ from what I hear. There is a review on the 10s if you look.

Download WinISD and enter the T/S parameters for the woofers. Check max SPL and see what the difference is.

If you don't want to do that, you can check overall displacement (which isn't the final parameter that determines SPL, but does have an effect). Its sd*Xmax (peak to peak). Just make sure you have your units correct. sd is usually measured in square centimeters and Xmax in mm. Also, most manufactures, unless otherwise stated, rate xmax one way, so remember to double it.

yea i can wait a week..what kind of box are they going in?
