hi my friend came to me with a good deal but i dont know what would be better so im asking you guys, heres the deal i give him 100 dollars my two 15" subs which are lightning audio 500 watt rms 1500 max and he will give me 4 kicker 12" L5's but in stead of being able to run them into 1 ohm they would be in 2 ohm running at 800 watts (L5's) vs my 15's running at 1 ohm at 1200 watts. also the amp is a viper 1200.1. so what yould you do get the 4 12's run at 800 or keep 15's running at 1200.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

personally i look at the cone area as larger for the 12s, i would try to swap the amp for something that would exploit that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

i would go with the Kickers, But thats just me, I was underpowering my L7s and they were still really loud, Just think, If you get another 180 or so, you can buy another Viper and Have both running at 1ohm adding up to close to 2700 on 4 L5s

yeah was thinking about selling it and getting a viper 2500.1

i would go with the 4 12's and when you get the money, get a better amp. I would trade 2 lightning audio 15's for four 12" kicker l5's any day
yeah i was thinking the same thing but whats wrong with that co. its made by rockford fosgate are they that bad.

lightning audio is not too bad, they make a few decent subs and a few decent amps, I do not think all of their products are that good though. They are a decent company I guess I would say. But kicker l5's are good subs. The 12's have much more surface area and ability to get a lot louder IMO with the right enclosure and power. And the surface area of one kicker l5 is almost as much as a regular round 15" sub.

whats a good cubic volume for the l5's seald //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Running 200 watts per L5 will starve them, but I would still choose that over the lightning 15's.

One question though, how much space do you have? The kickers will require quite a large box to get the best sound...you may actually be better off running 2 of them if you're strapped for space, give them optimum enclosures - plus a few extra watts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
