2 1508's into the 140's

i have read up a good amount on the 1508's, and i have read that some people have gotten pairs of these in to the lower-mid 150's in crx's

so would it be possible considering the right enclosure to break a 140 in a volvo wagon on about 800-1000 rms?

if so, what kind of box would i need?

would a hellboy from TTB do the truck, or what?

any kind of info would be AWESOME!!

and if you have a pair, i have a 15" t3 tss to trade even =] lol

Build multiple boxes and test with a Termlab. This is the only way to get loud scores, period.

any advice on box building, like any spicific ones i should try?

i have really only done basic ported.. lol..

you know.. 3.5 @ 32, or 2.6 @ 43 etc..

i still have to find the resonant frquency of my car..

Try different firing positions for both the subs and ports. Also experiment with different box volumes both by building boxes of multiple volumes and putting objects (such as landscaping blocks) in the box to decrease volume. Aeroports work really well in SPL testing because it's very easy to change the tuning and you can run them externally. A few rules of thumb: keep the opening of the port as far away from the sub as possible. This means to design the box to make it as slim as you can in order to get the port as far away from the sub as you can.

I would probably start off with subs back and ports to the side like the SUV boxes in the pics I posted.

Matt, the sub you have is **** near identical to a DD 9515....im pretty sure that would have the potential to get louder....

i decided i dont wanna trade away the t3 any way lol

I think your gonna be hard pressed to get the 2 1508s to sound as good as the TSS (which is same motor, I believe same basket, just different soft parts) as a new 9500 series... Especially for the price you paid. Id hate to see ya trade away shyt and go quiet

dude, i blew the box up, no lie, on brun rubber screwed by 2short i blew the mdf apart!!

and the screws holding the sub in broke, well 4 of them that is..

i was just going to buy 1 1508 to put in my girls car then im like, fvck her, im gettin 2 to see how loud i can get it..

but no lie, the tss is blowing the volvo apart, hahaha

That box was built like a tank, double faced, wood glue all seams. It was a hell of a sub, if i had the extra $ i woulda got 18 of them instead of 18 ts, but hey maybe next year

put them each in around 1ft3 after displacement

tune to 38-40hz
