2-15" Subs Sealed vs. 1-15" Sub Ported

Which will be louder?

Example:

2- 15" Subs are in a 4.0 cf dual sealed enclosure (800 watts for both)

1- 15" Sub is in a 3.0 cf ported enclosure tuned to 30-32 hz. (800 watts)

i have yet to have expierence with maws but

1. sealed u have more cone area but when doing a sealed app u need more power to get louder, but can hit lower freq

i personally would go with the sealed and give them more power and is ur 800 max or rms?

800 watts rms is what my amp is rated at

so two sealed 15s would get louder than one ported 15? generally speaking, subwoofer brand omitted.

winsid is accurate modeling some subs, and not so on other subs. like i said i have no expierence with maws. so i dont know how well the model in sealed or ported

granted i dont know anything about the maw not even its rms. never dealt with mach 5 but hopefully i will. if i had two tc 3000 and only 2000 watts to work with rms id go 1 ported cause feeding both 1krms i would be drastically underpowering them and they wont get as loud as the 1 15 in a good ported box. idk if this helps but its all i can think of right now as with my expeirence with 15s that i liked

do the 15's sealed. I am running two 15's sealed and couldn't be happier, plus if you get a vehicle with a bigger trunk you can port those bad boys.

This is not always the case.

Go with whatever setup will sound the best. Output will probably be similar but both setups will sound different. I prefer ported to sealed, but that isn't the case for everyone.
