2 12's vs 1 15

Got check today was gonna buy an American Bass XFL 15 but the seller I was looking is out of stock at the moment so for fun I was looking at other subs they produce and saw the XD 12's that can take 500 rms and Id get two obviously and I planned at running the XFL 15 at 1000 rms anyway so will the 2 12's be louder then 1 15 in my box? Its 4.15 cubes at 30.5 hz perfect box volume for 1 15 or two 12's. GOING FOR SPL here. ALL INPUT WELCOME

12's will have more cone area, but be more expensive.

You get a 3db boost in loudness when you either A: Double the power. B: double the cone area. Two subs on 500 rms is exactly the same loudness as one sub at 1000rms. Those all being the same exact subwoofer.

Keep that in mind

Why does he not like them ? I like American Bass based off listening to them. Have a friend with 2 AB XD12's hit a 150.3 with them in a Cavalier took out the seats just to hit 150 xD so id say theyre pretty impressive for $80.

No, he is an AB dealer, great guy to deal with and you would get a full warranty through him.

I'd do 3 10's like mentioned above.but box might be too small.what vehicle is this going in?

I just don't care for the response of 10's to be honest. And box is already built it's going in a 2002 taurus it's a tight fit.

The box i have is 4 cu ft and is for 3 10s

OP it depends on the subs, box, ext ext ive heard diff set ups same subs sound diff

I think airspace is what matters. I could have crammed 2 15s in my edge, but I had more airspace to properly port 2 12s and I can hit a nasty low note.
