I'm new here, but have been in car audio for awhile. I have a 3k Audiopipe amp currently and am looking for some subs to go with it. I haven't upgraded for awhile and everyone in the area either uses Kicker or JL Audio(I'm not overly impressed with either). So I am looking for a good set of 12's or a nice 15-18inch single sub that can handle the 3k that im going to be pushing. I have the Big 3 connection, a 220amp alternator, and a extra optima yellow top in the trunk. I have about 6-7cubic feet that I have to work with judging the the trunk of my 00' gtp is pretty good sized(Lucky me). I've been recomended 2 Audioque HDC3 12's, but I have never heard of or dealt with them. What does everything that? I'm looking to spend around $800-$850 on the sub(s). I am hoping that my price range isn't to low.

Thanks.

CADENCE 12" 3000w COMPETITION SUB/350 OZ MAG+RECONE KIT - eBay (item 350334119268 end time Apr-27-10 12:26:47 PDT)

SSA Xcon 15" Sub woofer1750rms 31mm Xmax

if i was you id get 2 15's with that much room, 2 xcon or 2 cadence 15's for the price. my fav sounding wise is the xcon. if you go with one sub id get an 18 inch warden easily

18" Warden Series - SSA STORE

i wouldnt get a single 15 as you want more cone area

those 2 12"s could do you well in a trunk...it divides the power between 2 subs and is similar in cone area to an 18". The box will also be smaller and easier to build, and allow more pressure to re-enter the cabin

um he want spl, copper coils give you more musical output, its not just about thermal handling. copper is a heavier material dumb ***, so this helps give more mass and less distortion but also less output. the aluminum will help the sub peak with less power.
