2-12's 4.3ft3 77in2 @ 32.75hz

Designed around a pair of capable 2K 12's that displace .18ft3 ea or so.
3/4" materials. I think this went into an Impala but can't remember

No cutsheet available.

Is the dowel in the port really necessary?

Is the dowel in the port really necessary?
All thread was actually used, having it there was actually his idea. This was trunk walled and having it visible in the port looked cool from the cabin I'm sure. Any large unbraced panel should have something in the center when wiring a Bmf-8k down if single ply imo.

Thanks, of course the wall should be braced. It's just the placement inside the port threw me off.

Placement threw you off? Could you specify a better location than centered between the edge of the port 45 and the end of the panel? I located the precise point, the builder has full discretion regarding how far to take it. If he located the damn dowel 2" off location do you think the enclosure would fail? Or maybe any bracing close to the location will help? I just LOVE having my designs critiqued after throwing them online. It's always easier to chime in than actually throw something out there. 4.3ft3 net 17.9in^ft3 tuned low as designed. Add bracing in the port or not... dealers choice

Asking for a friend... where would you brace this thing? Russian 13 ply single ply construction.

I'm not critiquing the design. Just saying the brace inside port threw me off; I thought there was some reason that the port was being braced, your explanation that it's the wall being braced cleared up my confusion.
