Too Fast Fo' Ya!
Hi guys been lurking for a little bit. Learning lots. I've decided I want to purchase two alpine 12" type r's.

I went out and measured my trunk...pretty small heh.

max height/width/length:

16"- H

36" - W (**** you wheel wells!)

32" - L

i know its not a lot of room...forgot to mention i would like a ported enclosure.

any help would be greatly appreciated. also the amp i plan to use is a hifonics 2006d which supposedly puts out 2000w @ 1ohm load, and I was planning on amping the speakers with a 240w amp. Can my stock electrical system handle this?

Thanks for any help advance!

You have plenty of room, almost 9 cubes before sub and port. You really only need about 5 cubes net for a pair of type-rs for them to get loud. A tuning of about 33hz would be pretty nice as well.

"Well you heard wrong bіtch; it's beast mother fuсker, fuсk wrong witchoo. You ever seen a perm like this? No you HAVEN'T"

"I didn't order no pizza... Dominos got a space ship? God dаmn, yall DO deliver... better bring me some hot wings bіtch or some cinna-sticks... Dominos even got cinna-sticks?"

Those are the best..

Oh sweet. Someone is telling me that with my stock electrical system, and with what i want to run, I'm looking at major dimmage and a dead alt down the road...what can I do to avoid that? big 3 will help right? But what else could i do? if i should just make a new post in the wiring forum let me know.

Thanks for the help Imma.

I haven't seen the 2nd one yet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

99 Saturn SL2 lol.

I was planning on using the hifonics 2006d class which supposedly puts out 2000w at 1ohm then i was going to get a 240w 4 channel for speakers.

Ok great. so if i do the big 3 with 1/0 i wont run the risk of killing my alt and a ton of dimming.

Does anyone have a visual example of 5cubes tuned to 34hz? Like demensions and stuff? haha thanks.

It's really hard to tell. You could be fine but you might not. The only way to really know is to install it and see. You probably won't need all of that power anyways which means you won't be putting too much stress on the alt.

Here is my cutout sheet, it's like moes last one on his design thread, but I made my width a lil shorter 36.5 since you have only 36 just take .5 off of it.

Here is what you should make your cutouts at...

Top Bottom: 36 x 26

Sides: 12.5 x 26

Front: 12.5 x 28.5

Back: 34.5 x 12.5

Port: 12.5 x 19.25

This gives you a lil ess then 5 cubes tuned to 34hz

Hey guys if you have a box made to 5 cubes at 34 hz and then make the box 4.5 cubes with the same port size does this raise or lower tuning?

OMG no!

The box isn't 26" tall, it's 14" tall goes back 26" for depth and is 36" wide.

Here some pics to better visualize it. The cutout holes for the woofers are to made in the front of the box next to the air port...

rofl my bad. a fellow zonie. haha!

so with the modification it will still sound good?

do you have any input on my wattage situation?

really appreciate the help.

The Hifonics 2006D will be a perfect match for those subs. You will be ok electrical wize as long as you have a fairly new battery, ( you know how it is in AZ with batteries going bad extra fast) and do a Big 3. Yes, the box will still sound great with taking a lil bit off of the width.
