2 12" SPL sub opinions/recommendations

I'd like to know what has worked well for everyone here. I'm going to be giving them approx 1600w, then later on I'm going to upgrade the amp and send them about 2400w.

I've had 2 12" Rs and then I made a switch to a power hungry 15" Audioque HD3. Sadly, the Rs beat the HD3 and the HD3 has been getting more power. So cone area > me. I'm not really liking the HD3 all that much, it's too weird of a sub when it comes to tuning, inefficient, and peaky.

Just got residual funds in today //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif, budget would be $500-$600. I've been considering L7's, I heard they were crazy loud and have more cone area. Mags and BTLs are out of my price range and I don't think I would see an increase, if any, if I used them. DD 3512's been on my mind but only if I could find them in the classifieds. I don't like RE nor am I impressed by them, so they're shot out the window.

I would be able to fit about 4.2 cubes after displacement.

By far...the L7's are the best inexpensive subs that will get very very loud and probably one of the most efficient. You can't go wrong with them. Just make sure you buy them with a warranty just in case it gets damaged...especially if you're using exotic boxes for SPL.
