Hello everyone,
Helping a friend out and doing what I can with his budget to give some character to his '97(?) Chevy Prizm.
His equipment (given to him for free by his cousin) includes:
Pioneer DEH-1600 headunit
(2) 12" Infinity Reference "1240w" subwoofers
Kicker KX250.2 amp
Wiring already "completed" - More on that later.
In addition, I sold him a set of BNIB 6.5" Memphis PR component speakers.
First up is the box. I have decided to give painting a try, as I've always carpeted enclosures (or left bare MDF) in the past. As the Kicker amp is underpowering even these subs, I've decided to give the 12's a bit more space. Box specs - 3.2 Ft^3 tuned to 35hz, with a 54 in^2 port.
First Cut
Coming Together
Spray Primer for the Port
Screws countersunk
Screws Covered in Wood Putty and Sanded
Paint Test Board. Port is Enamel, the Exterior of the Enclosure will be Textured
More to come. Thanks for taking a look, and of course, any advice is wholeheartedly welcomed.
