2 12" L7's + 81000D = loud

well yesterday i came back from campus and finally got everything installed and working... holy shit this thing is loud!

first off, comming from a hifonics brutus 1500D there is just no comparison against the 81000D , its like two different worlds, i had no idea that a quality amp would make such a difference, i know the bx1500D was overrated but not by so much! if you are thinking of buying a hifonics, DONT! unless you really cant afford anything better...

one thing i noticed was it becomes very violent in the lows, like it hits so hard and loud that i can hear the rear panel above the back seats slamming against the sheet metal support bars and it sounds like shit, it makes me think the subs are bottoming out, late nite tip is extreemly loud and violent, the low-low note completly shakes the frame of my car and like i said before it makes me pee my pants thinkin im abusing my subs...

Now the L7's themselves are completly wang'ing, when they were on the bx1500D they wouldent move all that much, mayby half an inch at the most, on this new amp they are SERIOUSLY moving some air... like i would say there moving almost a full inch and a half even tho its like not possible they could be moving that far they are really wangin ... and i cant find any signs of clipping, with 0 bass boost , freq'd about a little under half way up around the 70-90 hz range, and gain pretty high up there i cant hear any bottoming out when the trunk is open but as soon as i close the trunk it sounds like a demon trying to break out

im just so happy i finally got the sound i wanted from these babies, but i think theres still alot more to get out of them, some buddies and i are gonna build an el-large-o box around 6-7 cubes to 37 hz just to see how loud these things can really get , but now i can finally say i got my L7's to be stupid loud //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

actually when i was at my buddies house showing him the system, a neighbor from across the street, and down the road , mayby 100' away in the 3rd story apartment building came down and asked us nicely to turn it down (which we did of course, we're not assholes) but that just made me all warm and fuzzy inside //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blush.gif.99bc659ee2012b7d826165e26fb5eebe.gif

i'll have pics in a few mins , but i have no video camera //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blackeye.gif.66a1670f5aaf7f406e783a63e3387dc5.gif

what ohm setting you wunning that MTX at what ohm are your L7s
well its supposed to be at 1 ohm, but apparently impendence rise makes it actually like 2-2.5 ohms? either way its still puttin out alot of power //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

really? da*n. my buddy just installed 2 12" L7s on a Bx1500d @ 2ohm and i actually thought they were wangin pretty decently. I guess not.
yes, exactly! thats what i said, "they get decently loud" but until you've actually heard what there capable of its like you dont know what your missing, but if there was some way u could hear them on a much better amp your jaws would hit the floor //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

well on the hifonics, they were wired to 1 ohm, which is its max output, on the mtx there wired to 1 ohm which is its max output, so either way both amps were maxed out and rated the same

but yea, imp rise is that much //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif , i was gonna do the mod but turns out i dont even have to! and i would feel alot safer having the protection circuit thingy in there incase i did ever push the amp to hard for to long //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

!edit!

also is it normal for the subs themselves to become warm? i felt the subs when i wasent playing any music after a hard wang session and the center of the cone was somewhat warm....
