everyone.

what i have now are the 2 JL W3's hooked up to

my memphis amp which can put out 1100watts at 1ohm...

its not enough...

so i was wondering...

would 1 RE SX using the amp to full capacity be louder/

have more bump???

would 1 RE XXX work with an amp that so far UNDERPOWERS it...?

i can only assume that 2 RE SX's using the amp the way i am

would be better since i could use the amp to full power...

can anyone vouch for the SX's or recommend other subs...

i can only assue that this amp has enough power... i dont need

to get into multiple battery/HO alternator territory...

thanks.

It will help. If you want that kind of bass you might want to add another 12W3 so you can take advantage of your amps full power. If you add another 12W3 you can use the full power of the amp, this assuming you can wire the subs to a 1 ohm load. Then port the box and I think that you will have what you are looking for.

For starters I would look into building a good slot ported box for the 2 subs that you have and see what you think.

when you say port the box... do you mean cut a hole in

mine... or just get a ported box???

i know ive asked this before in other threads...

but...

i have a bandpass box laying around... would putting

these subs in that box at least give me an idea of

what putting them in a ported box would give me???

i only ask because i just got this **** sealed box

because i wanted a small box... now im like F this...

i want more bass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It depends on how large your box is. If it is large enough you can add ports to it, PVC pipe would be the easiest way to convert it. My guess is that you will need to get a new box, you can build it yourself or buy one assuming it has the right specs etc. Do you have the measurements of your current box.

i honestly dont know the measurments off hand...

its a small pre fab sealed box for 2 12" subs...

your probably right about it being too small...

would the other box i have give me an idea before

i waste more $$$...

Might aswell try the subs in the bandpass box. It should get loud, but sound nasty, depending on how you tune a ported box, it could drop LOTS lower than the bandpass, or peak higher. I agree though, port them.

Here is what i would do -

Invest some time and 25 bucks in wood.

Have someone on here design your box as there is plenty of people that will gladly help them out if your nice.

Hook them up and see how they sound.

Iff you don't like it, sell them and get a different sub.

Wy waste money and time tying to get a sub that hits hard when you already got them under your nose.

If it doesn't work out you only wasted a couple hours and $25 bucks. But atleast you know you tried.

Good luck and i hope i helped you out.

You can try the bandpass for the heck of it but those enclosures are not very forgiving if they are just a little off in size. The sealed box you have might be too small as well. The 12 W3v2 needs around 1.25 pers sub in a sealed box, I would even go wth 1.5 per sub after displacement.

so the general idea is that these subs are ok and

i have enough power... but my enclosure is all

wrong...

can anyone design a box for 2 12" 12W3's???

i promise to be nice...

You need to measure your trunk and consider how you would like the box to sit. Do your seats fold down? Would you want the box facing forward or towards the taillights? Once you get the measurements of your trunk you can post it on the box building section of this site and I'm sure someone will help you out. If you do not have the tools or the desire you can take the measurements to a car audio store and have them build it.
