2 10's or 4 8's?

Not too sure on which 10's I'd get, but I'm looking at the possibility of running 4 TC 1000 8's or 4 DD1508's. Power supplied would be decided later, but I need something small like this because I don't really have room in my truck. Whatever I end up choosing would be sharing 3 cubes, so if that affects it, so be it.

Well four 8's would have twice as many motors to soak up the power. There's several advantages to that. The 10's would (probably) have a bit more low end extension, but over all imo the 8's would likely be better. But of course, usually four 8's is more coin than two 10's.

This is speaking in complete genralities, not comparing any particular 8's or 10's.

go with a single 15. I dont understand the reasoning behind using multiple 8s. Four of them would have the surface area of an average 15 and considerable less throw (ie more distortion/less output) and would probably cost much more a much higher quality/performing 15" driver.

A single 15 has considerably more mounting depth than four 8's would. In a regular cab pickup with no blow thru (for example), this means ALOT. Sometimes there is also a vertical heigth problem, you may only have 12" of height for your box but 36" wide.... an array of 8's would make sense in this situation as well.

Lastly, some people just like to be different.
