2.1 reciever? i cant find any :(

hmm what brands of recievers do you all reccomend?

like the "profile" of home theater... bang for the buck. not looking for anything too hardcore

onkyo I always though was a good, budget one...I have a kenwood simply because it was a $75 Buy it now on ebay...cheap pioneer, sony, onkyo I'd think would do you good if your concerned with a budget

Some receivers have some nice switch modes, when I listen to most music I leave the front L&R and the sub out on... But when I listen to the ol' school stuff, Hendrix, LZ, or anything from my record player I set my reciever into PUREDIRECT mode or 2 channel stereo. Which automatically turns of the sub out and DSP. Which is awesome.

What kinda table are you looking at too? I honestly have 2 vintage with a new head and a new one and depending on the record i switch on and off... Unfortunatly both are at home 2.5 hours away from me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

LOL, well one was my great-uncles from when he died, also got an awesome reel to reel player, and the other one was broke and my dad's friend gave it to me. All i had to do what change out some parts and it worked fine...
