1st time carpet"er".......need help/advice?

I built my box a while ago and i've finally gotten around mentally to carpet this thing but i am really affraid that i will mess it up. I want it to look seamless but i dont know how i would go about doing that. Its a 3 cu.ft. box and i dont know how many yrds. of carpet i will need and i dont know what i will use for the port itself so its not an "unfinished" look???? i've found that partsexpress.com has awesome prices and they have everything i need so can someone help me out.

i know there is a tutorial somewhere that i learned this from, but i cant find the link.

practice a few times. and buy too much fabric too. its always good to have a lil extra than to have to buy a whole new freaking roll cuz you are 2" short.

alright well any idea how many yards i will need for a 3 cubic foot box?

and what do i use for the port itself?
