1999 Ford F250 and Pioneer DEH-P710BT

I am a total novice at this and know just enough to get myself in trouble. I am about to purchase a Pioneer DEH-710BT off the net and have it installed in my 1999 Ford F250 locally. The F250 has a stock radio in it which is a double din unit. The Pioneer head unit is not a double Din. I assume it is a single DIN??

Anyway I got this message from my potential suppiler of the Pioneer

1995 FORD F250 2DR TRUCK or EXTENDED CAB TRUCK has a DIN opening. There is no pocket kit available for your vehicle. With your purchase of the head unit, we will be including the free harness and antenna adapter, but not a dash kit.

Is there something that I am not understanding about this message. I assume it really means that they do not have a "pocket kit" to install the head unit, but it is not clear if that means no one will. I assume most reputable radio installation shops will be able to install it with out problems??

Why the DEH-P710BH - well it has blue tooth built in as well as ipod control, a microphone that you can mount just about anywhere and most significantly it has a wireless remote control unit that mounts on the steering wheel and a great price. Add in the voice dialing that it has and for me it is an ideal head unit.

Thanks and I apologize if this is the wrong forum to post this question in.

Where are you ordering it from?

It could be because you typed in the year incorrectly. What you copy and pasted sais "1995" when in the title of the thread you say it's a '99. The 95's are a standard corporate din opening while the 99 is a double din and WILL need a dash kit.

That being said, the dask kit for that vehicle is popular and just about any shop should stock it or be able to get one quickly.

Thanks for the quick reply. I hadn't noticed the '1995' as that is a direct paste from their message. Thanks for pointing it out to me. The F250 is a 1999 and yes it is the double din. I don't know where the retailer got 1995 from as my original correspondence with them clearly stated that it was a 1999 model. Anyway, from your message, it would appear that I should be able to take the radio to a competent installer and that there should be no problem having it installed.

Thank you again for your quick response and good eyes.
