I am a total novice at this and know just enough to get myself in trouble. I am about to purchase a Pioneer DEH-710BT off the net and have it installed in my 1999 Ford F250 locally. The F250 has a stock radio in it which is a double din unit. The Pioneer head unit is not a double Din. I assume it is a single DIN??
Anyway I got this message from my potential suppiler of the Pioneer
1995 FORD F250 2DR TRUCK or EXTENDED CAB TRUCK has a DIN opening. There is no pocket kit available for your vehicle. With your purchase of the head unit, we will be including the free harness and antenna adapter, but not a dash kit.
Is there something that I am not understanding about this message. I assume it really means that they do not have a "pocket kit" to install the head unit, but it is not clear if that means no one will. I assume most reputable radio installation shops will be able to install it with out problems??
Why the DEH-P710BH - well it has blue tooth built in as well as ipod control, a microphone that you can mount just about anywhere and most significantly it has a wireless remote control unit that mounts on the steering wheel and a great price. Add in the voice dialing that it has and for me it is an ideal head unit.
Thanks and I apologize if this is the wrong forum to post this question in.
