1995 dodge ram

Lots of things such as a sticky cable, ie the casing of it causing a drag on the cable itself. Could also be a crapped up spring for the butterfly itself, even some gunk built up in the bore of the throttle body causing the blade to stick.

X2^^ return spring on the TB. Also take a peak inside TB at the butterflies and see if the look dirty. It can never hurt to take some carb cleaner to it. And seafoam is your friend.

Seafoam is horrible. But if you must...

Just don't ***** when you have more trouble than you started with. And get TB/Intake cleaner, not carb cleaner. Dodge trucks have issues with dry cables. Clean the TB bore, use a grease gun to lube the cable with chassis grease or white lithium grease. It's unlikely that it's the spring, as those rarely wear out, especially a cylinder spring. If it's a conventional hook-ended spring, replace it.

Call you local dodge dealer and have them run your vin number, some of those had a recall for the throttle cable. Other than that try and clean the throttle body first...by hand using a good throttle body spray and lint free rags.

Never had a problem with seafoam. I ran in my 97 ram numerous times and I still run it in my 97 dakota.
Key word. Using it, other by the instructions, is a horrible idea. If you're willing to do it every 3000 miles, without skipping a beat, it's great for most engines. Especially OHV TBI engines.

oh jesus. and shit is scary when his throttle sticks. last year i was riding home with him (first time riding with him, he WAS a speeder lol) and we were leaving the parking lot and he slammed the gas and it stuck....needless to say going 50mph and not stopping towards a road full of traffic is NOT ****ing fun at all...
