1992 GMC Sierra Radio Install

Hey guys,

I am looking to recess my new Alpine by a couple of inches so I can make a cover to have a stealth install Using the factory dash in the middle of the truck. My question is has anyone ever done this and or have pics so I could get an idea. And if you have what did you use to mount it.

have u bought the kit already for the truck? the mount extends the radio part out about 2 inches because the dash is VERY shallow behind the opening... there is a piece of metal that is in the center behind the factory radio... i would just buy the kit... install the radio... and try 2 make a cover for it then...

Yes the piece of metal behind the radio can be removed. But if I remember correctly there is A/C ducts that are still in the way. Removing the piece of metal only provided more clearance for the RCA's and other wires for H.U.
