Hello all,
You all seem very knowledgeable on this topic, so I thought I'd ask my question here..
I recently bought an 89 town car with quite low miles, like 55000., I love the car, but the speakers, and overall sound system I think is shot. It just sounds terrible. I have installed decks here and there, but never got really into the whole speaker replacement thing. At any rate my main question is this, the car has 2 speakers built into the dash, 2 in the front doors, and then obviously 2 in the rear deck. The door speakers and the rear deck speakers are cake to get to, but it seems as if to get to the 2 speakers in the dash, I have to take the whole dash out, which is something I don't really feel compelled to do at the moment. My question is this, if I installed new speakers in the door, and new rear deck speakers, with a new head unit, and just left the 2 dash speakers disconnected, would it sound okay? I'm looking for more quality sound, I like a little Bass, but I'm not trying to enter any competitions or anything, I just like really good sounding music. Clear and sharp? I don't know if those are descriptions of sound or not, hahaha, but thats the best way I can describe what I like.. Maybe crisp too? What speakers would you all reccommend installing. I have a pioneer deck that I was thinking of installing, its a few years old but sounded really good in a truck I had, so I was thinking of just using that. Any input is appreciated, thanks again.
