18s...AQ HDC3 or DC Lvl 4?

Im going with 4 18s, trying to decide which would be the better choice? I have 2 Mmats 3000.1s....but my thought was to get the HDC3 coppers, run those for a while, then when I have more money recone with the aluminum coils and step up with power...But which is the better sub? My goal is to touch the 50s on music with the amps I have now...Any help/input is appreciated

both can hit 50's but depends on what car, box, tuning....electrical..more factors than just sub that makes a 50 car.

Sleepy_jr does 50's on music with 2 18 alum HDC's and a 2 mean machine amps. Box is on the small side at 10.25cubes tuned to 38Hz. Plays music very well also...

Well its a lincoln town car, likely doing a ported clamshell wall... and i have a 250 amp powermaster alt, big 3, 2 runs of + knukonceptz 0, yellow top under the hood, and 3 yellow tops in the trunk...i plan on adding 3 more batts... but with what i have now i should be ok, correct? I mean I ran a MA 802sx at 1 ohm without an issue...

you should be fine on electrical now you just gotta get the design correct....and then start coming out to some flspl shows...since everyone in bradenton love to talk bout how loud they are....and never come out to shows.....i mean the game over boys got some that come out...but we need more.. and i'd run 2 more runs of 0....for the grounds....keeps everything nice and tight...and voltage tighter than a virgin on her wedding night

Well idk how familiar you are with older SPL in FL but ill have help with the design/build from one of the guys who was part of Team Supersound in Palmetto who took the 2001 and 2002 extreme 5-8 world record, and im already sitting at 14.8 on my last battery in the rear...but you can bet as soon as I get this thing done ill be going to all the events...You may have seen my dads truck a year ago, we went to a lot of shows. Silver Tacoma with 4 12" massive DMXs... It was doin 47s, no wall...but anyways, back to the question lol DC or AQ?

uh not much differance between the DD 9500's and the hdc3's their nearly the same sub.the DC's are differant tho...

I do 150's consistently on music with 2 AQ HDC3 18's copper coils and 2 AQ 2200's but I am sure the Lvl 4's are very capable also

I've decided to go with DC, should I do 4 lvl 4s or 2 lvl 5s?

obviously if you are working with 3-4k per sub then go with the lvl 5...if not then just go lvl 4
