I think I am going to build my new system around 4 18" subs, 4 amps.

I am going with 18" subs from Audiobahn, does any body know what other brands make good spl subs. I want an spl system.

what do you drive? tractor trailor? its not even that the subs themselves will take up too much room (which they will) but the boxes for those things will be enormous. Hopefully you plan on going sealed...which isnt really the greatest for SPL. Maybe you plan on running these in your bedroom...even though it would take up half the room

Hey I think 4 18" would be perfect if you had like a Astro Van or something, just leave the two front seats. If it was me I would try out RE XXX 18"......... have fun!

you should ask rangerman about 18''s. he said that the loudest system he's heard was 2 W3 or W6 18's, and those aren't even SPL subs...i agree with bumpin03, i think you should reconcider. if you're the person that wants taht amazingly loud bass that can be heard for miles...i used to be there...and as you mature and listen to music, you realize it's really no big deal. I'm 16, and i've now got 1 XXX 12. I was planning on getting 4 15's and i ended up with 1 12...

yeah 4 18" audiobahn subs wouldn't fit even in my car unless i ripped out the seat. the thing about that too is that you would be running expert modified wouldn't he if he changed the interior and the box went above the window line?? so unless you plan on running like 4 5000watt amps you'd get your butt handed to you at comps. run like 1 or 2 15"s in stock not modified and sound deaden the hell out of your car with the left over money on saving yourself the money on buying the other 2 amps and 2 subs.

Do you want to just make this into a competition vehicle? Or a daily driver with nothing but all out SPL? Dont attempt to play music through a competition system - for burps only.

get 4 shockerxtreme 18's they ar e exspensive but i seen a guy that had 2 of them and hit 174db

hey adcdefg the guy you've seen hit that wouldn't happen to be the guy on shocker's website that did a 174 with 2 Extrem 2 18"s would it???

Paul Nelson... Extreme 1-2 World Champion.. 175.2 db, running 2 SA Sig Quad 18's and 16 visonik amps... It being an extreme vehicle, its not relevant to this post.. lol
