18" Sx...anyone Heard One???

I was looking at buying a RE sub, and the one that appealed to me the most was the 18" SX. I keep hearing ppl talk about how loud the sx's get...I guess im wondering if anyone has heard one and what do they think of it? Also, what are the normal box sizes for one of these (in cubez)

I don't know if you've ever had an sx or an xxx, but if you like low end, you'll be MUCH happier with the xxx. I had a 15" xxx, then went to a 15" sx, then went to 2 15" sx's. I still preferred the xxx.

Yeah the XXX will get lower than the SX, i dont know whats the deal with people comparing the SX to an XXX, fine the SX can be as loud as the XXX with 1000 and the XXX being fed 1600w, SX are more efficient, cool. Why dont we try a real test, give each woofer 2000w-2500w and see what happens.

The xxx owns the sx in every aspect as far as I'm concered. The sq is 5x better. All I'm saying is don't settle for an sx if you really want an xxx.

Never heard an 18" SX...but the 15" SX's I've heard got sort of loud...just a bit.

lol, wow howd i just happen to come back to this board today.

Ok so i got 2 18 sx's... In the right enclosure they will be loud as hell. Unfortunately i made my box too big for my car, so had to cut the port off and go sealed. But they still sound nice. 1000 watts to each. Very loud.

People say since i have a town car the sound doesnt resonate as well as it would in other cars since its a "luxury" car. But the way i look at it you cant go wrong. I'd rather buy an 2 sx 18's because they are cheaper than buying an xxx.

but never heard an xxx, so go fig, i love my 18's though, alot lot lot of low end. Very accurate, depending on how i set my amp freq, i can make them rumble or i can make them just hit.
