18" Mt

Gotta few questions. How would a 18" MT perform in about 7-8 cubes tuned to 32-34 htz? What are the voice coil specs on them? dual 2? dual 4? Would a Herc @ .5 ohm wang it? I've heard the Hercs can get up to 2800 or so @ .5 ohm and I know they can run .5 daily easily. Do the MTs have good SQ? This will be a daily driver set up. Also, how can I find an authorized dealer? I want warranty and all if I'm getting a top of the line sub. This is just for future reference, not happening anytime soon.

From what I heard the MT aren't going to give you any SQ... they're pure SPL subs. You can email/call RE Audio to find a local authorized dealer. RE doesn't offer warranties for the MT line of subs, because of the "extreme nature" of the subs. On their site it says they are offered with dual and quad .7 and 1.4 coils...

They are mainly a SPL sub so SQ isnt really thier fortay. Most will tell you to use at least 3k on them to start

Well, I think that puts the MT out of the question for me. I'm gonna be looking for something that really hits hard, but still sounds good, and will be happy with 2500-2800 watts. I really want one 15" or 18". Has to be wireable to either .5 ohm or 1 ohm.

Any recommendations? Price isn't really gonna be a factor.

don't be to quick to judge. i have han an mt for a while and let me tell you ...running a 12 off of an orion 2500d@.5 it wangs.. Sq is subjective......it never broke accuracy....then again i listen to mainly rap. it hits hard up top....gag it with power (about what you plan) and it will skull**** you silly.

if i had the chance i would have skipped right over the mag, xxx,brahma and went straight to the mt.

i hate to say it but have any of you played with an mt??? also it is hard to suggest that a tc-3000 will hold 2500rms and that is its peak.

Subjective yeah, they arent as responsive for othe types of "music" though. its basically the mother of SPL subs so to speak. I get the Idea he's looking for a good SQL Driver.

they are rated at 2000. i would stick with that. there is no such thing as a sql driver. you build you box according to what type of output u are looking for.

If that was directed at me, I've never seen an MT in person in my life.

Why would you stick with that? please explain, theres vids of them taking 10k fine, and i personally know of one being ran on a test tone for 8 hours off 8k.

So please tell me, why would you stick with 2k.

And yes i have heard MT's get sloppy.

Call up RE ask them what would be better for your daily SQL setup, im sure they will not recommend an MT as well. Plus as stated no warranty
