yea, that was Scottie Johnson's Astro van. . i think theres a big difference in what Scottie did and what this guy is trying to do.There is a video of brahma's in an spl setup where they actually break a door. Cracked right through the metal.

Not a very well known fact. And I find that amusing, because so many people like to talk about the Brahma Extreme like it was God's gift to SPL a couple years ago, while those same people state the XXX makes for a lousy SPL sub and would always recommend the SX over the XXX for a daily SPL setup.
I just want the good cean sound of the brahma, with more output, I know i could go with 2 15s, but really ive always wanted an 18" and im a fan of a single sub setup. especially down low. Are you saying it wouldnt get much louder than what it is now as a 15? I mean i want decent spl, but yet dosnt sound like a cat getting ***** by a pitbull in a garbage can.yea, that was Scottie Johnson's Astro van. . i think theres a big difference in what Scottie did and what this guy is trying to do.
not that im a pro at building speakers or anything . . . but reconing it to an 18 will just raise the Fs and i dont see the the sub getting as loud
Someone might be able to elaborate this better then me. . . But turning it into an 18 will raise the Fs and the Mms because now you have heavier movable parts. It basically rearranges all the parameters that the motor was designed to move. I dont think SQ will go down, i think output will go down because of this.I just want the good cean sound of the brahma, with more output, I know i could go with 2 15s, but really ive always wanted an 18" and im a fan of a single sub setup. especially down low. lol, my favorite sub setup i think i have ever had was an Adire Tempest, I had it in a 4.5cf ported box tuned to 32hz in a ford explorer. The looks on peoples faces when they saw only one "crappy looking speaker" put out that much bass. Chrome and shiny plastic dosnt make a sub.
