Ive played with all four, Try an Incriminator Death Penalty instead of the nightshade, same motor, except the DP's are substantially cheaper and more capable than the night shade... dont believe me, call steve cook in AL and ask him. Google him, he's all over youtube shattering windshields. Over all, for the money, the RD Alpha would be dang hard to beat, better motor (more BL and rearward clearance), comparably rigid cone. The MX doesnt compete in output to any of the other subs. We do 149.4dB with one RD Alpha MAx 15D2 on 3300 watts(clamped) at the headrest/termlab. MECA legal score 148.9dB headrest/termlab. I run a 10" Alpha V3 as a daily and it blows alot of minds, I had an Alpha Max 18 (ground pounder setup, single 9.25" spider and longer winding length coil) and it managed 143dB off ~1200 and would get crazy low, solid to 26Hz
By the way, 16 consecutive years in the industry, hands on with over 300 woofers, Ciaonzo on here can back my claim to know how, as can sound_around and misfit and well as woodels420. I design/install/fabricate etc all types of set-ups, SQ/SQL/SPL and home theater, I own termlab and pull tsp's for people. hands on I can predict the output of a system usually to within 1dB before the install. not blowing my own horn, just giving some background. I have installed systems using from 125Wrms to 12K rms (4 mojo 4kW's) My personal daily's currently run from 400W rms, 1600rms and ~5K rms (RD D9)
